The Signs given to Moses

September 7, 2020 Fabian Posadas No Comments

The signs that were given to Moses. I believe is a picture of the signs God gives to you (all of us).

Everything in scripture has a deeper meaning, a hidden jewel waiting to be found. Jesus said, “all these things are done in parables”. Which I believe means everything in scripture and in our own personal lives “is done in parables.” In other words, the events in our lives are surrounded by parables. The scriptures tell us that it is up to us to seek out the meaning behind these parables. (Pro25:2), it up to us to ask God to reveal the truth to us (Mat 7:7). We are told to study to show thyself approved.

Pro 25:2  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Signs given to Moses.

When the Lord told Moses to go tell the children of Israel that: “The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you.” Moses responded, but “they will not believe me.”

Exo 4:2  And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
Exo 4:3  And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
Exo 4:4  And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
Exo 4:5  That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

This is pretty awesome. When you look up the word “rod” in the Hebrew text, you find a hidden secret. It is spelled “מטה” and its pronounced “mat-teh’”. The first letter in the Hebrew spelling of the word is the Mem (מ), representing flowing water. The second letter is the Tet (ט), and it is symbolic of a container. The last letter is the hey (ה), and it represents the spirit. If we look at the letters for the meaning of the word, we can see that it possibly means “flowing water contained within man”. The rod is a picture of you (all of us).

The Lord told Moses to cast this rod (flowing water contained within man) onto the ground. The ground represents dry land, a place without water (without understanding). “And it became a serpent.” The serpent is another significant word. In Hebrew, it is spelled “לנחש” and its pronounced “naw-khawsh”. The word serpent has multiple meanings (found in the AHLB Lexicon). One of the meaning is the word “snake,” but a few of the other meanings are “learn, experience, and observe.” When the man (he who contains the waters within) is thrown on the ground, he experiences the harsh struggles of the world (depression, anger, sadness, pride, lust, doubt, etc.).

The scriptures say that when the rod became a serpent that Moses fled from it. When we go through our struggles in life (the ground) and realize that we need more, we flee from that serpent (we repent, turn away), and we begin seeking God. Then God tells Moses, “put forth thine hand and take it by the tail.” Moses grabbed the serpent, and it became a rod. Jesus said repent for the kingdom of God is at hand (at your reach). Moses grabbed the serpent by the tail and took dominion over the serpent.

Exo 4:6  And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.
Exo 4:7  And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
Exo 4:8  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

The Lord then tells Moses to put thy hand in his bosom, and he took it out full of leprosy. But then the Lord tells him, put your hand back in your bosom, and the leprosy was gone. The hand is symbolic of our works. When Moses took out his clean hand, it was symbolic of him being healed of his carnal works. The Lord said if they do not believe the first sign, the sign of being saved from our old life (the person we used to be). Then they shall believe the second sign, the one where your works are no longer of this world (no longer hating, fighting, condemning, etc.) because now they are of the spirit (love, gentleness, and forgiving).

Exo 4:9  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

But if they do not believe the first two signs, neither understand what you say, then you shall take the water (the revelation given to you by God) and pour it on the false understanding so that it can become blood. Blood is symbolic of the family bloodline. When we become blood, we become sons of God.

I believe these verses have multiple ways of looking at them. One is looking at them in the natural from the perspective of how we share these three signs to others (our testimony, our works, and revelation). Then there is a second way to look at these verses, which is spiritually(because the kingdom of God is within you), how these are signs that we show to ourselves. When we give our lives to Christ, God changes our name to Israel (God prevails). Moses is a picture of us. He represents our spirit, man (the one who talks to God on our behalf). We are Israel, and the children of Israel represent the beliefs, ideas, and mindsets that we give birth to in our minds. For example, we sometimes give birth to doubt, fears, and sometimes we even give birth to a lie that we are separating ourselves from God. But then Moses (our spirit man) will share (within us) the first sign and tell us, “Don’t you remember how God saved you from your old life of struggles and depression, can’t you see you are no longer that person”. If we still doubt, Moses will share the second sign and tell us, “Don’t you remember how you used to struggle with violence and anger, but now you are a loving and forgiving person”. If we do not believe these first two signs, we (Moses) get back in our word and pour the revelation (water) onto ourselves the ground (our false understanding) so that it can become blood (Blood of Christ) so that we can believe.

The rod that Moses had, means “water contained within man,” that water is Christ (Yeshua). The shell or the flesh of the rod is man (all of us).

John 14:20  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

1Co 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Co 12:27  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

This is what I believe the scriptures are teaching us, don’t take my word for it. Take it to God and ask him because when we do, he reveals the truth to us.

Mat 7:8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat 7:11  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

The Third Adam

The Third Adam is a metaphor for the three-day journey we travel in our lives in our quest for the truth. In scripture, we are told that it is the spirit that gives life and not the letter; this means that there are more profound hidden lessons than what we see at face value. In this blog, I hope to share those hidden lessons that I believe God reveals to us all when we begin to seek more and when we begin to question the things we once thought to be true. The Third Adam is symbolic of the third day when Christ is found in the temple, and he says to you, "Did you not know that I would be in my Father's House?" Read more
